L2 PvP Servers — Play for the Fight

Lineage 2 was built around conflict. Fighting for spots, PK in farm zones, castle sieges, clan wars for territory control — PvP is core to the game. PvP servers take this essence and max it out: accelerated leveling, quick gear access, focus on player battles. Farm is a means, PvP is the goal.

On the private L2 scene, PvP servers are the most massive category. 3000+ online at start — usual for big projects. People come for adrenaline, not grind.

Why L2 PvP is Still the Most Alive

No MMORPG has replicated NCSoft's PvP formula. Castle siege — 200+ players on one map, alliance coordination, strategic planning. Olympiad — 1v1, class vs class, no outside help. Mass-PvP on epic-RB like Antharas or Valakas — chaos, tactics, decisions in seconds. Nothing like it at this scale in other games.

PvP Server Formats: from Low-Rate to Full PvP

On Interlude meta is stable for years: daggers (Treasure Hunter, Abyss Walker) dominate 1v1, nukers (Spellhowler, Sorcerer) in mass, BD + SWS — essential support. On High Five it's broader: elemental gear sharpening adds depth, Titan shreds in olympiad, archers (Sagittarius, Moonlight Sentinel) reliably deal damage in mass-PvP. Class choice depends on format: olympiad, sieges, and open-world PvP need different builds.
